West by Five is a three storey Edwardian house located to take full advantage of the beautiful coastal and ocean views standing on top of the hill above Porthmeor Beach.  The house has four letting rooms situated on the first and second floors and all accessed by flights of stairs.  The owner’s accommodation is situated on the ground floor.

Porthmeor Beach and the Tate Gallery are a few minutes walk down hill, mostly steps.  Whilst the town centre is a few minute walk down hill through the famous quaint and winding streets of St Ives.

West by Five does not have private parking but we do have the space for you to pull in to unload your luggage before parking your car in one of the town’s eight car parks. Please see our Parking page for details.

St Ives has many car parks situated throughout the town and you will probably find that once you have parked your car you will not need it again during your stay.  The picturesque winding narrow streets of St Ives are best enjoyed on foot.  Be prepared for cobbled streets and hills, plus of course great scenery and excellent restaurants.

West by Five is strictly non-smoking and is protected via smoke detectors, fire alarm and emergency lighting. There is gas central heating throughout which has climatic control. All of our rooms are en-suite, there is 1 single room with a 1 metre wide bed and a further 3 king-size double bed rooms. The beds are dressed with goose down duvets and pillows (hypoallergenic upon request) and all also have mattress protectors.

Accommodation

The main entrance door is 85cm wide, there are two 16cm steps into the house, the hall is tiled with access through the 75cm wide hall door into the hallway. The downstairs area flooring is exposed floorboards.

The bedrooms are accessed via the carpeted stairs, which are 80cm wide and have a right hand ascending handrail.  All bedrooms are carpeted and have tea and coffee making facilities with a choice of beverages also a dressing table with stool, hairdryer, comfortable chairs, full length mirror, i-pod docking digital radio alarm, flat screen TV with DVD and a wardrobe. All en suites are tiled and have a WC, wash hand basin, heated towel rail, mirror with light and shaver socket; 3 of the en-suites have a shower cubicle and one has a bath with shower over.

Bedroom 1 is at the top of the house on the second floor and is accessed via 30 steps. The entrance door is 71cm wide, the bay window is fitted with Roman blinds with black out linings. The bed is a king-size double. The en- suite is accessed via a 64cm wide door and has a bath with shower over – there is a 55cm step into the bath.

Bedroom 2 is on the first floor and is accessed via 16 steps. The entrance door is 70cm wide, the bay window and further window are fitted with Roman blinds with black out linings. The bed is a king-size double. The en- suite is accessed via a 66cm wide door and has a 70cm wide shower cubicle accessed via a 12cm step.

Bedroom 3 is on the first floor and is accessed via 16 steps. The entrance door is 70cm wide, the window is fitted with a privacy voile and curtains with black out linings.  The bed is a 1 metre wide single. The en- suite is accessed via a 72cm wide door and has 90cm wide shower cubicle accessed via a 12cm step.

Bedroom 4 is on the first floor and is accessed via 14 steps. The entrance door is 62cm wide, there are two windows one fitted with a Roman blind with blackout lining the other is a patio door with privacy voile and cutains, also with blackout lining. The bed is a king-size double. The en- suite is accessed via a 64m wide door and has a 90cm wide shower cubicle accessed via a 12cm step. There is a large sun terrace accessed from the room via a 73cm wide patio door, and a step of 6cm, there is a further 25cm step onto the terrace. The terrace has a railing of 97cm high and the surface is wooden decked.
